Fox was in construction on a new building, which required them to move existing D/C generators. This move caused necessary upgrades to replace D/C power on three stages currently used to film the TV show “Chicago Hope”. Fox chose to replace the D/C power with A/C power, which was the new technology for the industry. We used our previous experience with sound stages and worked with Fox Studios’ historical data to determine typical power requirements for each of the sound stages. We then designed high and low voltage distribution into each stage including Bull switches located above the lighting grid and around the sound stages. We were very familiar with Fox’s standard Bull switches, because we had helped the specialty manufacture develop them during work on Fox Stages 20 and 21.
