This facility, approximately 30,000 square feet in size, is a post-production
sound-mixing house. We met the challenges that go along with moving such a
technical space into an office building. These include strict acoustical requirements
that were met by detailing the HVAC ductwork with the contractor, and designing
electrical systems such that electrical harmonics noise issues would be mitigated.
We also designed supplementary cooling systems to handle the technical equipment
heatloads and the 24-hour air requirements involved with such equipment. All
this had to be done with tight coordination with the architect and contractor
because of limited floor-to-floor ceiling height.
