Fast Track – Flexible – Creative Space – the result – a
Calibre Award. Syska Hennessy Group recently was part of the design team for
a new Corporate Headquarters for Warner Music Group in Burbank, California.
The project involved the design of the building systems for a 188,000 sq. ft.
consolidation of Warner Music into a single location at the Pinnacle Building
in Burbank.
Our client wanted a flexible new office and creative space built on a fast
track schedule, along with interactive conference rooms consisting of state
of the art A/V equipment. The design and construction team collaborated in
innovative ways to consolidate the employees of Warner Music, previously located
in multiple buildings in the Los Angeles area, into six floors. A 2,000 sq.
ft. data center was designed within the space incorporating a raised floor
with a redundant UPS and 7x24 HVAC system all of which were independent of
the building systems and backed up by an emergency generator. The partnership
of the team and close coordination combined with the early completion of the
data center, issuance of long lead packages and fast turn around on shop drawing
submittals allowed the fast track approach delivery to succeed.
The open environment, HVAC comfort controls zoned to match employee usage,
acoustical treatment of the office and the responsive lighting system enabled
our design team to provide both a comfortable and flexible environment while
enabling the systems to blend in with the architectural elements of the space.
The project, completed in 2003, was recently honored with a Calibre Award
by the California International Interior Design Forum, Southern California
Chapter.
