Anaheim Ducks take to the ice at the
Honda Center |
Reflecting state-of-the art design in both form and function,
the Honda Center (formerly the Arrowhead Pond) of Anaheim hosts
a variety of first-class events each year including concerts, sporting
events
and family
shows.
The 650,000 sq. ft. arena is home to the NHL Anaheim Ducks
as well as the annual John R. Wooden Classic and Fight Night at
the Pond. It also has the flexibility to be used for various family
events, including the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus
and Harlem Globetrotters. The venue hosts top concerts annually,
and is ranked third in the world by Billboard magazine (2005),
as one of the premier entertainment venues in the United States.
Syska Hennessy Group designed the highly technical building systems
for this facility. Teamed with HOK Sport, the Syska team designed
this state-of the art arena as a premier entertainment and sports
venue for the City of Anaheim. The arena has three concourse levels
and can seat 17,200 hockey fans, 18,000 basketball fans and 19,200
concert patrons. In addition there are 84 luxury suites and 1,716
club seats.
Syska Hennessy Group is the proud recipient of the Award for Electrical
Excellence from the Orange County Chapter of the National Electrical
Contractors Association for the Arrowhead Pond Project.
