Phoenix Convention Center rendering of the expansion project.
Client Goal:
Expand and improve the existing Phoenix Convention Center and renovate
the adjacent Symphony Hall to meet the growing demands of a vibrant
trade show and special event market
in the Phoenix area. The total estimated cost of this expansion
is over $458 million.
Our Response:
Teamed with a group of world renown architects and consultants
to help form a world-class design team capable of turn-key design
on a fast-track basis, while at the same time helping to secure
funding for this ambitious project, design a cost-efficient and
highly competitive facility capable of maximizing revenue opportunities
for the owner, and help create positive community support.
The Syska Solution - Phased Development Plan:
A three step process for the development of the expanded Phoenix
Convention Center; beginning with the construction of a meeting
and conference facility on the Symphony Terrace, followed by
replacement
of the existing north convention center building, renovation
of the interior and existing south convention center building
and the renovation of a 2,600 seat performing art theatre. This
project was awarded in February 2003.
