Warner Bros. ITD Group location.
|
The US Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design) Green Building Rating System® started a pilot program in 2002 called
LEED for Commercial Interiors®. Warner Bros. made the decision to be a part
of this program with the relocation of their International TV Distribution
Group (ITD) to the entertainment company’s existing WEA Building in Burbank,
CA. Already on board for the building systems engineering, Syska Hennessy Group
was also asked to provide LEED® Consulting and Documentation services.
The tenant improvement project is one of 80 projects that has
been registered with the USGBC under the CI Pilot Program, and
consists of four (4) floors of office type occupancy totaling approximately
56,000 sq. ft. The space includes the renovation of private offices,
open office areas, conference rooms, pantries and IT rooms. There
are also some modifications to the base building systems that are
part of this project, including a replacement of the existing boiler
plant and associated controls, and the installation of new rooftop
air handlers and associated controls.
The project completed construction in December 2003, and is currently
in the process of submitting documentation to the USGBC.
