The U.S. Navy Marine Corps Intranet, Information Strike Force
(NMCI-ISF) was tasked with modernizing the United States Navy
Communication Systems to ensure that the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps
have uninterrupted,
reliable access to a secure voice, video and data exchange
system. This system is used daily by Navy personnel dispersed throughout
the 50 states and US Territories for administration, daily
and
confidential communications.
Syska acted as the 3rd party independent
Testing and Commissioning authority, working with multiple
contractors to assure that equipment
was properly installed and tested. The Syska Team integrated
experts in the design, management and operation of critical
environments to commission the sites. Our scope of services included
providing
full critical systems performance testing to design intent,
including
procedures, technicians, test equipment, punch list and
detailed final reports for the backbone of the NCMI network.
Performance testing included the following items:
-
Circuit breaker low voltage primary current injection
testing.
-
Ground integrity testing of service, generator, UPS,
PDU.
-
Heat run load operation of breakers, wiring and terminations.
-
Infra-red thermal scan of critical equipment under high
load.
-
Generator and ATS heat run burn in.
-
Chiller and cogeneration plant integrated testing.
- UPS, PDU, and HVAC heat run, burn in and test to specs.
-
UPS battery discharge test at full load.
-
UPS redundancy and generator step and transient load
tests.
-
PDU branch circuit verification
-
Integrated system test with generator.
-
EPO and safety systems tests.
