NEW YORK, NY -- February 12, 2004 -- The US Army
Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Programs Center has awarded an
indefinite
delivery/indefinite
quantity contract
for reconstruction work to a team that includes New York-based
Syska Hennessy Group, a national leader in consulting, engineering,
technology and construction. Syska is performing the work in partnership
with American International Contractors, Inc. (AICI) and its parent
company Archirodon Construction (Overseas) Co. S.A., based in Geneva,
Switzerland.
The contract is for design-build and construction related services
in the US Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibilities
(AOR), including the geographic areas of the Horn of Africa, South
and
Central Asia, and Northern Red Sea regions, as well as the Arabian
Peninsula, including Iraq. The contract could have a value of
up to $1.5 billion over five years, as part of an overall $15 billion
program.
The work will be issued as separate task orders and will include
but not be limited to construction, reconstruction, renovation,
restoration, incidental or limited design associated with these
types of activities, temporary base operations or other types
of operations and maintenance activities, and other presently unforeseeable
requirements that may arise. The contracts will enable the issuance
of performance-based or design-build types of task orders.
