Foundation Health System, Inc. required an infrastructure systems
evaluation of their existing 80,000 sf raised floor data center
in Corona, California. The data center supports their medical facility
operations and a 7x24 patient information network for all of their
US based operations. The purpose of the evaluation was to identify
reliability issues and growth capability. Syska Hennessy Group
was chosen to lead the evaluation, which led to the facility master
planning.
The master planning included the identification of current equipment
load densities and projection of future load densities based on
equipment information provided by Kaiser. Planning included the
infrastructure design to renovate 20,000 sf of existing raised
floor space used for offices and convert it to computer room raised
floor utilizing industry best practices. Design incorporated high-density
application planning and a back-fill strategy for the existing
80,000 sf of raised floor data center space. Syska was also engaged
as the General Contractor for the implementation of the various
upgrades.
