Exterior of New York Presbyterian Hospital New
York Presbyterian Hospital is one of the most comprehensive university
hospitals in the world, with leading specialists in every field
of medicine. The Hospital’s strong relationship with Syska
Hennessy Group’s Healthcare Team prompted the Hospital to
commission Syska’s Critical Facilities Team, the industry
leader in the design and construction of critical and Hypercritical™ facilities,
to conduct a reliability study and subsequently complete a schematic
design for installation of their new GE PACS (Picture Archiving
and Communications Systems) equipment.
PACS serve as secure databases for medical images, improving the
efficiency of imaging departments by allowing digital information
to be stored, recalled, displayed, manipulated and printed digitally.
Syska completed mechanical, electrical and structural schematic
design documents for installation of their PACS system in both
their 68th Street and 38th Street facilities. Working with the
Hospital’s stakeholders, our Team completed a detailed cost
analysis of both sites and determined the existing data center
space located within their 1,400 sq. ft., 38th Street facility
was the most cost effective selection for full design of the PACS
installation.
