King Abdullah Petroleum Study and Research Center - Mixed-use Facility, LEED Platinum Goal

Syska Hennessy Group is in the process of designing a Master Plan for the King Abdullah Petroleum Study and Research Center (KAPSARC), a mixed-use facility for Saudi Aramco. The facility is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia minutes away from the King Khalid International Airport and is approximately 3,757,025 square feet that includes residential, community, commercial and Petroleum research facilities. Syska is currently providing Schematic Design and Design Development packages to develop and design the Outside Plant Infrastructure connectivity for the mixed-use facility.

The scope of work includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, information technology as well as sustainable consulting services. In addition, Syska is currently designing Entrance Rooms in each facility, a Satellite Dish Farm, a Satellite Facility, Distributed Antenna System, outlining fiber connectivity between buildings via ductbank routing, conduits and vaults. Syska is working closely with the Saudi Telephone Company (STC) to provide diverse voice and data connectivity.

Syska's current objective for this mixed-use sustainable community is to make the clients missions possible which are to protect Saudi Arabia's pre-eminent role as an environmentally responsible energy supplier, providing secure energy supplies to sustain the worlds economic prosperity and growth, becoming a world-class, independent, iconic energy research organization reflective of Saudi Arabias prominence in the global energy industry along with many others. Land use will be optimized by installing 8,000 photovoltaic panels on 12.5 acres, which will ultimately produce 2.5 million watts per hour. Syska plans to make all of this possible for their clients by communicating with both the client and the team.
