Oracle USA, Inc. Greenfield Data Center
Salt Lake City, UT

Oracle focuses on business-to-business software and services to help maintain business operability. Seeking to construct new state-of-the art Data Centers in the Western United States, they engaged Syska Hennessy Group as part of the team vetting the need for and cost to build a new consolidated data center. Syska’s tasks including providing consulting expertise to help Oracle prepare a business plan for Board approval. Subsequent to the Board approval, Syska has engaged to lead the planning, programming, site selection, MEP design, and Owner’s construction manager for the data centers. Proposed locations included multiple cities within the western United States.

This data center is designed for total scalability and flexibility, to limit the initial capital expenditure and meet the future business and IT needs. The Initial build phase will include the shell to accommodate: two computer room modules; the supporting MEP infrastructure for two modules; IT technical and work flow space; and limited administrative space. The data center is planned to support 300 w/sf of critical IT load, using overhead air distribution to cold aisle to cool the high density raised floor environment. The project has also been designed to use 100% outside air along with other sustainable engineering practices to achieve a very low PUE, producing an extremely energy efficient operating environment. The project will be using LEED® -NC guidelines for implementing sustainable features in design and construction.

Future shell expansion is planned to support two additional computer room modules and associated MEP infrastructure space, for a total of four modules at ultimate build out of over 350,000 gross sf.
