This is an example of a relatively small project, delivered economically and ahead of schedule through Syska Hennessy's remediation contract with the USACE. Total construction contract value was $145,000 including a new concrete pad, extension of an existing concrete loading dock, installation of a new 150W outdoor diesel generator unit, modification sand tie-in to the existing electrical distribution system serving data processing loads. Syska Hennessy conducted a site survey to verify the required generator capacity and the existing electrical system serving the computer facility, and to establish a location for the new generator. Next, a detailed work plan was done, including required drawings, specifications and narrative to document the quality, scope and cost of the project. Syska Hennessy's services also included complete installation, testing and commissioning of the generator system, including supervision of cut-over to serve the data processing equipment. In spite of the unusually severe winter, our team replaced a 150W outdoor generator on time and within budget by accelerating the construction schedule to achieve installation during windows of fair weather.
