The Hawai’i Convention Center reflects the open-air quality
of life on the islands. The glass front center welcomes
guest and calls to mind the warmth and openness of the Hawai'ian
people. The $2 million Hawai'ian art collection along with
outdoor function space make this center unique to the Hawai’Ii
islands.

Innovations and Solutions:
Syska’s Vertical Transportation Specialists provided analysis and
design criteria for 12 escalators and 10 elevators. Elevator
cab fixtures were designed to complement the Hawaiian tropical environment.
Syska Hennessy Group assisted in the selection of cab finish materials
including exotic woods and stone flooring native to Hawai'i. Exterior
escalators received special galvanizing to project the truss and interior
support components. Stainless steel materials were used to ensure operational
reliability.
