The
U.S. Patent & Trademark Office needed to consolidate their
headquarters operations from multiple locations into a new six
building campus facility which could provide reliability
and operational efficiency which is critical to their continued
and effective operation.
Project Features:
- Consolidating multiple facilities
- Power Monitoring and Control System (PMCS)
- Innovative Chilled Water Loop
- ACEC Award Recognition
- 24/7 Functionality
Innovations and Solutions:
This project was GSA’s largest design-build-leaseback to
date. The developer, LCOR, needed to provide a secure campus
which could operate 24/7 for the term of the lease while remaining
mindful that the buildings might need to function independently
in the future. The
innovative campus-wide chilled water loop system is energy
efficient while allowing for future building autonomy; it received
the ACEC Metro Washington Design Award.
This project was awarded the 2006 Citation of Excellence
at the Buildings Magazine Product Innovations Awards. Read
