Green Critical Facilities: Exploring sustainable practices for implementation in critical facilities
By: Staff
With data centers being recognized as “Energy Hogs” there is a lot of attention being paid to decreasing the energy consumption of these facililties. The EPA is developing documentation to regulate the power consumption of servers, the USGBC LEED® standards are being applied in designs, and end-users are looking to enhance their environmental stewardship while saving money on operational costs such as utilities. Developing sustainable practices include more, however, than just saving electricity. Hazardous materials, waste, water consumption, and several other topics need to be concerns of the design team and owner.
Explore some of the realistic ideas for achieving the green goal in electrical and mechanical infrastructure and equipment in this presentation.
